About
How many websites are geared towards the budding young designer? Those just starting in the design world are the most in need of help and guidance. Just because one might get a degree in a subject or is self taught does not mean we know everything (and many people will remind you of this fact). Much like home loans agents, teachers, engineers and other people in their own respective professions, we designers need more experience and learning platforms in order to prosper. Do not despair!
That is why the Young Designer’s Guide is here!
I attended a highly acclaimed art college with many exceptional professors, but I thank my lucky stars for the two internships I had while I was in school that helped me to be build my portfolio and increase my experience and business knowledge. However, even after these internships there were still a lot of things I was nervous about or had no clue I needed to know. Many colleges develop talented designers, but most often do not offer classes specifically tailored towards the business end of design. I had to learn the business of design through a series of trials and errors along with some helpful pushes in the right direction from friends and colleagues. I genuinely hope this site helps you navigate your entry into the design world. Tell everyone! Submit ideas, articles, resources. Your input is imperative.
